GPM Welcomes 2021 and the Year of the Ox with Virtual New Year’s Toast

Global Process Manager Inc. (GPM) welcomed 2021 with their yearly tradition, the New Year’s Toast. However, with Metro Manila under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) because of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s celebration was held virtually via the virtual meeting platform, Zoom.

 

Meeting Rooms 1 and 2 on the 17th floor were converted into a makeshift studio where the production team with hosts Jona Alcacid and Bea Mabasa aired the program. The production team likewise set up two LED projectors in the office so GPM employees may watch the livestreaming of the event from their work stations. The rest of the GPM employees joined in from their homes as they were on work from home arrangement.

 

The program started with a video message from GPM President Mr. Erik M. Nielsen where he highlighted the 4 priorities of GPM when the Covid-19 pandemic struck in 2020: (1) look after our employees; (2) take care of our business; (3) keep servicing our clients; and (4) learn from this for the future. In parting he thanked the GPM team with “A big thank you to everybody for lasting through a most difficult 2020. I look forward to the journey with you through 2021 and onwards.” He likewise assured everybody, “GPM will make it and we will have a brighter future.”

 

This year, the New Year’s Toast acknowledged the GPM employees who have rendered their long service to the company. Given recognition were employees who have rendered at least 5 years of service to GPM, and up to 28 years as with the case with Ms. Mafie Leaban. In all, 27 employees were recognized and GPM expressed its profound thanks for their dedication and loyalty though these years.

 

Next in the program was a video collage of the past learnings and New Year’s wishes from selected GPM employees. Next it was the GPM Management Team’s turn to share their thoughts about the previous year and their hopes for 2021.

 

GPM Chairman of the Board Ms. Doris M. Ho then shared her message to GPM. She acknowledged that 2020 was indeed a tough year for everyone, but she knew that GPM had the tenacity, the hard work and the courage to overcome these challenges. “I know you (GPM) can face 2021 with great optimism because we showed that we can overcome even the most difficult challenges,” affirms Ms. Ho. “I wish you all a very Happy New Year and all the best. May GPM soar to new heights in 2021.”

 

The program culminated with Mr. Nielsen raising his glass to toast everybody whether they were in the office, in their homes or elsewhere for a great 2021 ahead: GONG XI FA CAI!
