On June 15th the Royal Danish Embassy in the Philippines organized a reception for some 200 guests to celebrate the Danish Constitution Day as well as the Philippine-Danish relations. Global Process Manager, Inc. (GPM) elected to be one of the sponsors of this reception, given its strong ties to Denmark and the multiple Danish clients housed in GPM’s office premises.

Among the distinguished guests were representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), among others; and the chief representatives of all major Danish companies in Manila.

As the Danish Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Franz-Michael Mellbin, remarked in his speech: “The people-to-people ties between the Philippines and Denmark are growing ever closer these years, as is our economic and international cooperation. The bilateral trade between Denmark and the Philippines is now at a record high, and substantial additional foreign investment by Danish companies will soon materialize in the offshore wind energy sector.”

Representing GPM in this prestigious event were GPM President, Mr. Erik M. Nielsen, General Manager, Ms. Maria Criselda S. Velayo, Assistant General Manager, Ms. Ilde C. Dimailig and Human Resource Head, Ms. Maria Cecilia O. Gamos. This was also an occasion to commemorate the Danish flag called the “Dannebrog,” the oldest flag in continuous use by any country in the world, embodying the unity and resilience of the Danish people.
