GPM supports NordCham endeavor to promote transparency and trust in governance and business

The Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (NordCham Philippines) hosted The Nordic Ambassadors’ Forum 2025 on 13 November 2025 at Dusit Thani Manila. This event brought together Nordic Ambassadors, government official, and business leaders to promote transparency and trust in governance and business. With the theme “Trust and Transparency: Nordic Values in Action,” the event showcased Nordic practices that strengthen institutions and foster accountability.

The Nordic Ambassadors collectively emphasized that transparency, trust, and collaboration are essential for good governance and sustainable development. Amb. Franz-Michael Mellbin of Denmark highlighted how clear rules and open access to information reduce corruption and build public trust. Amb. Saija Nurminen of Finland stressed the importance of digitalization of processes as well as independent journalism and reliable information to combat misinformation and support informed decision-making.

Amb. Christian Halaas Lyster of Norway underscored the role of social trust and community engagement in fostering stability and innovation. Meanwhile, Amb. Anna Ferry of Sweden showcased participatory governance and accountability mechanisms as key to strengthening institutions and promoting ethical leadership in both government and business.

The Philippines’ Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Secretary, Atty. Ernesto V. Perez, in his keynote address, highlighted the government’s commitment to streamlining services and adopting Nordic-inspired reforms to enhance efficiency and accountability.

The Forum reinforced NordCham Philippines’ role in bridging Nordic and Philippine communities and offered actionable strategies for good governance and responsible leadership.

Doris M. Ho, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Magsaysay Group of Companies and Chairman of the Boards of GPM, attended the Forum to underscore the organization’s steadfast commitment to advancing good governance and fostering transparency in business partnerships.

Also attending from GPM were President, Erik M. Nielsen, Assistant General Manager, Ilde C. Dimailig, Human Resource Head, Maria Cecilia O. Gamos, Account Manager, Johanne L. Portugal, and Multimedia Services Manager, Angel Martin L. Ampil.

Luck appeared to be on the side of GPM as our own Doris Magsaysay Ho and Erik Nielsen won Economy Class round-trip tickets from Manila to any Turkish Airlines destination during the raffle.
