AMI-MPRC makes it a double, takes Volleyball and Basketball crowns

The energy was high and the competition fierce on the fifth day of the GPM Sportsfest 2025, held on September 13 at the AMOSUP Sports Center in Malate, Manila. In the final day of the volleyball and basketball competitions, athletes gave their all to win the championship, which left the spectators cheering and beaming with pride. 

  

In the volleyball tournament, MSL was awarded an automatic win and secured 3rd place following the absence of their opponent, Nobia-Hassei. The final match saw AMI-MPRC take on GPM in a thrilling battle for the championship. AMI-MPRC displayed strong coordination and consistency, winning in straight sets: 25-21, 25-11, 25-23. As a result, AMI-MPRC was crowned the 2025 Volleyball Champions, while GPM finished in 2nd place. 

  

The basketball tournament featured two thrilling matches. In the first game, GPM pulled off a tight 72-71 win, proving their resilience under pressure by nailing a free throw with 6 seconds left, and earning 3rd place. In the second match, AMI-MPRC delivered a strong performance against WRIST, winning 95-85. This victory secured AMI-MPRC the 2025 GPM Sportsfest Basketball Championship and their second championship for the day. WRIST settled for 2nd place. 

  

The awarding ceremonies were led by Ms. Cecilia Gamos, who congratulated the participating teams and presented the awards to the top-performing teams in both volleyball and basketball.

The last leg of the GPM Sportsfest 2025 continues with Bowling on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Paeng's Midtown Bowl, Robinsons Place Manila. The keglers from different teams are eager to showcase their skills on the bowling lanes.
